The Caragh River is renowned as one of the world’s most beautiful rivers with many bus loads of tourists stopping daily to take pictures.
The abundance of rivers, lakes and sea fishing within 10km radius makes the area an Anglers paradise.
The Caragh Bridge Angling Club is based on the lower Caragh River stretching from Caragh Lake to the estuary. There are a number of pools on the river and the water always runs clear – even in high water.
CBAC was formed in 1998 when there was a danger of the river falling into private hands which would have prevented locals from accessing the river as they had done for generations.
CBAC is very much a community club and is dedicated to maintaining the river for future generations of fishermen and women.
Membership of CBAC is only €40 per year, which is outstanding value for such a great fishery.
