Description

The colourful town of Killorglin in County Kerry celebrates Puck Fair annually 10th to 12th of August. Thought to have pagan origins the fair is steeped in history and associated with many myths and legends.  On the first day of the fair or Gathering Day a wild mountain goat is crowned ‘King of Puck’ and is raised up to his regal throne to watch over the festivities. At the end of the last day or Scattering Day, his duty done, the goat is dethroned and returned to his wild ways to graze on amazing memories
